Exporting your tasks and related details is easy. Whether you’re moving to another task manager or just need a copy of your data, this step-by-step guide will illustrate how to export your tasks in less than a minute.
Please note: Your tasks and related details will be exported in CSV format. You can import the file into any task manager which supports CSV import so you don’t have to copy everything manually.
Step 1) Click on your profile icon in the top right of the screen
Step 2) Click on “Settings” to access your account details
Step 3) Select “Data export” from the top of the screen
Step 4) Read the on-screen instructions and click on the Download button
Please note: You may need to enable pop-ups in your browser, here’s how:
Instructions for Chrome browser
- Start the download process by pressing on “Download tasks in CSV”.
- If the download started, then you can ignore the rest of the instructions.
- Check the address bar, there you will find an icon indicating a blocked popup. Press on it.
- A small window will show up. Under the section “The following pop-ups were blocked on this page” press on a link in blue, this will start the CSV download process.
Instructions for Firefox browser
- Start the download process by pressing on “Download tasks in CSV”.
- If the download started, then you can ignore the rest of the instructions.
- Below the address bar, you will find a bar indicating that “Firefox prevented this site from opening a pop-up window”.
- On that bar, you will find a button called “Preferences”. Press on it. A menu will show up.
- In that menu find an item called “Show `Some url`” – press on it. This will start the CSV download process.
Step 5) Wait for your download and you’ll have access to the CSV file on your computer
And that’s it! Now you can import the CSV file into any task manager that supports it and use the data as you please. If you encounter any issues, please get in touch via email at support@sendtask.io or use the live chat box in the bottom right of the screen.
Please note: If you’re importing your tasks to a task manager where your collaborators are not yet invited, it’s best to leave the Task Assignee and Task Followers fields unmapped. This will ensure all tasks are imported successfully. Alternatively, you can invite your collaborators to a shared project in the new task manager before importing your tasks (using the same email address they had in Sendtask).
